can't just shut body down, although judith butler might make a sexily convincing argument for such a thing on a PERFECT STAGE. of course. so much is possible in the art museum, freudian couch, the walk alone with headphones. all that is possible for the mind, not requiring action but rather a perfectly closed system, when the thought, the mere enjoyment of the thought is sufficient to satisfy. now, try watching two beautiful fish- paired black & white, swim together for this stretch of maybe five feet & then parting in the water. they swim through a tank of salted water but their bodies either don't know or don't remember the difference between artificiality and authentic ocean. they swim and move as beauty and as, yes, electricity and hunger. point is, they are all action. they remain unremoved from them selves but through a didactic transferral enacted externally. what is internal, to a fish? hormones, fish blood, electricity, protein, oxygen, fish dreams fish dreams fish dreams... but remember when kurt cobain sang about fish and they have so many feelings remember?
